Sales and movies are integral parts of my life.<\/p>\n

\"Movies<\/p>\n

Movies generally depict sales people as con-artists or eccentric executives with no feelings.<\/p>\n

To a more non-judgmental audience, we may come across as \u2018yes boss\u2019 type of individuals.<\/p>\n

But notwithstanding these bipolar opinions about us, we sales people are simply unstoppable professionals with a never-say-die attitude.<\/p>\n

Why do we do it? For the Rush!<\/p>\n

\"rush\"<\/p>\n

We do it because we like to think of our job as a movie about a do-or-die mission.<\/p>\n

\"argo\"<\/p>\n

And because we like to lead from the front, willing to do ourselves what we have asked others to do.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Yes we like being called \u2018wolves\u2019; after all there is no such thing as bad publicity, only bad decisions.<\/p>\n

\"wolf\"<\/p>\n

When we begin thinking like smooth talking box-pushers, yeah, we may crack a deal or two. But then we might as well say goodbye to any repeat business.<\/p>\n

\"phone<\/p>\n

Keeping clients happy isn\u2019t always easy, but it\u2019s worth it because happy clients mean repeat business. And that\u2019s where 80% of business growth comes from. In the words of Thomas Paine, \u201cthe harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"happyness\"<\/p>\n

We believe that People come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime. It\u2019s best to have a client for a lifetime so that we can help grow each other\u2019s businesses; to lift the other when we\u2019re down.<\/p>\n

\"nash\"<\/p>\n

So here are my tips on being great at what you do:<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

Be Relevant<\/strong>
\nClients are constantly bombarded with information so it\u2019s key to understand their business requirements and specific needs and focus on addressing them.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Be the expert<\/strong>
\nProblem solving is critical in any growing business. Be the expert who can look into a client\u2019s eyes and tell them what\u2019s best for them.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Be ahead of the curve<\/strong>
\nDon\u2019t ask clients what\u2019s keeping them up at night, rather, find out what gets them out of bed every morning. By doing so, you are also reinforcing their purpose in the team. Rise above the obvious!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I could go on about the qualities of a great salesman, but I\u2019d rather leave you with Yogi Berra\u2019s words \u2013 \u201cIt ain\u2019t over till it\u2019s over.\u201d<\/p>\n
